Blaming Greed

Consider the occasion where a government system or program fails to achieve good results. Every time someone blames this failure of the government on greedy people who want to make profit, they are unwittingly admitting that their methodology of solving problems is fantasy. They are essentially saying that the government programs would have worked if only people weren’t so greedy. Because greed and self-interest is a part of human nature that you can’t eliminate by legislation, greed is, has always been, and will always be part of our human nature. If someone’s idea for a government system or program can only work in a world where humans don’t have greed and self-interest, then their idea can only work in fantasyland. We must use problem-solving methodologies that reflect the reality of how people really are, not how we want them to be.
